Banana Bread using Turbo Broiler

This is my very first attempt in baking. I have been craving for banana bread for a month and my boyfriend bought me a turbo broiler, so why not use it right!  This is a very simple recipe that I followed via various recipes that can be found in the internet. I twitch some of it though.  The best bananas to use are the overripe ones (you can buy it in tumpok at the market and it’s cheaper). Any variety can be used but I preferred Latundan because it’s sweeter.   For sugar, I use washed sugar since its less sweet than the white ones and won’t overpower the sweetness of the bananas.

A little Trivia did you know that an average size Latundan only contains 46 calories and 0g fats, very good for those that are on diet.

Let’s start cooking:

Banana Bread Recipe

Preparation Time: 10-15 minutes
Cooking time: 45-60 minutes

Ingredients:
            Dry ingredients:
·         1 cup sugar
·         1 ½ cups all purpose flour
·         1 tsp salt
·         1 tsp baking soda
Wet ingredients:
·         1 cup mashed bananas (you can add more than a cup if you want to J)
·         2 pieces medium raw eggs
·         1 ½ tsp vanilla essence
·         ½ cup cooking oil
·         Butter (for greasing the pan)
Procedure:
1.      Preheat turbo broiler at 150-170 degree Celsius for 10 minutes.
2.      Combine all dry ingredients. Start by sifting the flour and baking soda then add salt and sugar. Mixed until evenly distributed.
3.      Add the remaining wet ingredients (except the butter), mix well until you form a batter.
4.      Grease the pan with butter and pour-in the mixture.
5.      Bake for 45 – 60 minutes. To avoid burnt crust if using standard turbo aluminum foil can be used to cover the loaf pan.
6.      Once done, remove from the broiler and let cool before serving.

7.      Lastly, Enjoy and share it with your love ones!
